Privacy & terms
What we store, what we do with it, and what this site does and does not promise. One page, because a policy split in two is a policy nobody finishes.
Your location never leaves your device
"Sort by distance" asks your browser for your position and works out the distances in the page, using coordinates that were already sent to you with the car park list. Your location is never transmitted to us, never stored and never logged. You can refuse the permission and everything else keeps working.
Car park pages also show how far the nearest alternatives are. Those distances are measured between car parks and are the same for everybody: they involve your position not at all.
What we store about you
Nothing, if you do not create an account. Reading this site signed out leaves us with no record of you: no analytics, no profile, no page-view log tied to anything.
If you create an account: your email address, the car parks you save, how long your drive is if you tell us, which alerts you have asked for, and a record of your sign-ins. There is no password. We email you a link instead, so there is no password of yours for us to lose.
We log the IP address of sign-ins, account changes and messages sent through the contact form, for a year, to investigate abuse. We do not log ordinary page views against your account.
Deleting your account deletes your saved car parks and your alert settings with it. Ask through the contact form and it is done.
Advertising
Car park pages and the car park list carry display advertising. Nothing else does: this page, the home page and the rest load no ad script at all. The network is Google AdSense. It sets its own cookies and may use them to choose which ads to show you; that is between you and Google, and your browser's settings control it. You can review and change what Google uses at My Ad Center.
Signed out, you see one ad part-way down a car park page and ads spaced through the car park list. With a free account, you see one ad part-way down a car park page and ads spaced through the car park list. With a subscription, advertising is removed entirely: the ads, the script and the cookies, not just the boxes.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, we do not email you anything you did not ask for, and there is no analytics service watching you move around the site.
The forecasts are estimates, and sometimes wrong
Everything here is built from what a car park has done before. A car park can fill faster than any pattern predicts: an event, a closure, a train replacement, or simply an unusual morning. Please do not rely on this to catch a flight, and do not treat "spaces expected" as a space reserved.
We publish how accurate the forecasts have actually been, on how it works, because a claim you cannot check is not worth much. The service is offered as it is, without a guarantee that it will be available, correct, or uninterrupted.
Using the site
- Read it, share it, link to it, and quote it. That is what it is for.
- Do not scrape it in bulk or hammer the API. It costs us real money and degrades the site for people trying to catch a train. If you want the data at volume, ask.
- Do not use it to build something that endangers anyone, and do not present its forecasts as guarantees to somebody else.
- Accounts are for people. One address, one account, and we may close an account being used to abuse the service or anyone else.
Whose data is whose
Live occupancy is published by Transport for NSW and remains theirs, under their licence terms. The recorded history, the patterns drawn from it and the forecasts built on top are ours. The site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Transport for NSW.
Changes, and the law that applies
This page changes when the site does; the advertising section above is generated from the live settings, so it cannot fall behind them. Material changes to what we store or what we do with it will be said plainly here rather than buried.
The service is operated from New South Wales, Australia, and these terms are governed by the law of New South Wales. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
